An interesting fact about the Tissot Arena in Biel/Bienne is that its ice hockey rink can be transformed into a tennis surface in less than two hours. This transformation was carried out for the Davis Cup final in 2014, where Switzerland emerged victorious against France.

It marked the first time in the history of the competition that the final was played on an indoor hard court surface. The transformation was completed in just 57 hours, with a team of over 80 workers laying more than 4000 panels to cover the ice. This rapid and efficient transformation impressed the tennis players, who commended the ingenuity of the Tissot Arena and its technical team.
